ProPhase, a family-owned full-service electrical contractor, was engaged by Fielding Environmental to provide a cogeneration system on-site. The cogen system was designed to be able to “island” Fielding Environmental from the hydro grid. This meant that the cogen system would provide enough electrical power to supply the complete operations of the Fielding plant without any electricity coming from the hydro grid. Two (2) 500 kW Mann natural gas engines were installed in a custom insulated container, to provide all of Fielding Environmental’s energy requirements.
